The ARRIS SG4000 modular optical node provides an unprecedented level of performance and flexibility. The SG4000 utilizes Gallium Nitride (GaN) technology for increased output levels and reliability. With provisions for up to nine optics modules in the lid and six RF
modules in the base, the SG4000 scales from its most basic version to full 4×4 capability without any loss of initial investment. The node enables incremental and independent forward and return path segmentation to address network growth.
The ARRIS C8M- Commander 8 Modulator has two frequency-agile models, the C8M-L (50 to 600 MHz) and the C8M-H (550 to 1000 MHz), to cover all current and future broadband frequency requirements up to 1 GHz, with a convenient 50 MHz frequency overlap between models. Superior individual CNR performance of the C8M guarantees a combined Commander 8 CNR of 65 dB for 149 channels. The C8M uses a bright, two-line vacuum fluorescent display (VFD) that provides access to all modulator controls and is accessed via a convenient menu system. Front panel RF, IF, aural subcarrier and video test points are provided. Easy rear panel fuse access is also available. The C8M provides as a standard feature two video/audio inputs and two IF inputs for redundancy, emergency alert or programming purposes, providing operational flexibility. The input sources may be switched automatically or manually. Provisions for adjusting peak-to-average audio level in four steps is provided with the audio AGC. The video DC clamp can be referenced to sync level, burst level or both, and an adjustable video white level clip function is also provided. Video AGC is also a standard feature.
The ARRIS BSR 2000 (Broadband Services Router) Cable Modem Termination System and Router allows cable operators to generate incremental revenue, reduce operational cost, and more cost-effectively introduce voice, data and video services to additional subscribers. This compact, high-performance Cable Modem termination System (CMTS) is ideal for small or medium-sized distribution hubs or for larger sites in the earlier stages of market penetration of broadband services.
The ARRIS BSR 64000 with release 5.2 is a fully redundant, carrier-class intelligent CMTS/edge router supporting (Euro) DOCSIS® 3.0 for next-generation Ultra-Broadband cable services. The ARRIS RPD2000 (Return Path Demodulator) is an essential component of a local access network configuration. It provides the upstream link that is needed for communications with set-top terminals. The ARRIS RPD2000 terminals provide essential information such as Aloha interactive data, pay-per-view (PPV) purchases as well as critical status monitoring data. Data is received by burst demodulator modules within the ARRIS RPD2000.

The ARRIS BDA Broadband Telecommunications Drop Amplifier is a two-way 1 GHz amplifier designed for customer premise amplification. The ARRIS DSR-4400MD (Satellite Multiplex Decrypter) is a powerful digital head-end product, capable of simultaneous decryption of up to 24 services/72 PIDs. Whether your application is to feed a 256 QAM channel or a 64 QAM channel, the Motorola DSR-4400MD is the answer. With the ARRIS DSR-4400MD, you can output a full MPEG-2 multiplex at an information rate of 38.8 Mbps or 26.97 Mbps, depending on your needs.
The ARRIS DSR-4400MD comes equipped with industry standard interfaces that enable seamless connection to DigiCipher II IRT-1000/2000, MPS Remultiplexer and other head-end equipment for cable encryption and cable modulation. The ASI and DHEI inputs provide additional flexibility for the ARRIS DSR-4400MD by allowing loop-through decryption capabilities when more than 24 services of decryption are required. The ARRIS DSR-4500X (Professional Satellite Receiver) is ARRIS ‘s advanced commercial integrated receiver/decoder (IRD) which features a wide array of outputs to meet the expanding needs of cable programmers and cable operators. In addition to the standard audio and video ports, the ARRIS DSR-4500X has connections to deliver data services, MPEG-2 transport streams and headend signaling.
For a variety of data delivery applications, the ARRIS DSR-4500X includes an asynchronous (RS-232) port, an isochronous (RS-422) port, and an Ethernet (10/100 BaseT) port. To help deliver complete MPEG-2 transport streams, DHEI and DVB-ASI outputs are provided. For signaling existing headend equipment, a DSR-4500X DTMF tone generator interoperates with ad insertion systems, while 3 sets of contact closures are provided for general purpose device control. The ARRIS DSR-4520X is the new advanced featured DigiCipher® II integrated receiver/decoder (IRD). The Motorola DSR-4520X digital satellite receiver is designed for cable operators and other commercial satellite operations who want to maintain their signal in a digital format.

The ARRIS SP100/DC 100 STARLINE 1 GHZ Accessory are ARRIS’s STARLINE 1 GHz splitters and directional couplers that are used with the 1 GHz Mini Bridger series amplifiers, model MB100. The purpose of these devices is to activate and direct signal to output ports 3 and 4 in the MB100 amplifier. The MB100 amplifier is shipped with a jumper installed that can be used to activate either port 3 or 4 as the second output port. To obtain signal at both ports 3 and 4, install the appropriate splitter or directional coupler.

Support for centralized encryption in VOD systems can also be supported. The NE supports both full encryption (unique tier per service) and Common Tier Encryption (CTE), where each encrypted service shares the same access requirements. The NE can be configured to follow the input copy control information within an input DTCP descriptor, as well as to follow settings provided by the DAC or made by the operator directly on the NE EM (CTE only).
The ARRIS OM2000 produces an out-of-band (OOB) data stream to digital set-tops providing a signaling channel, transmission of program guide information, code downloads, infrared codes, application information and the downstream path in an interactive system. Data input is configurable through Ethernet and serial connections. The OM2000 Quadrature Phase Shift Key Modulator (QPSK) modulates data on a 1.5 MHz wide carrier in the 71 to 129 MHz band with transmitted data multiplexed either in the OM2000 or externally. Null packets are used as necessary to perform rate aggregation between its inputs and the 2.048 Mbps output. Forward error correction (FEC) encoding and interleaving protects data integrity.

The ARRIS OLL1000 (Offline Loader) is a specialized carousel server that provides the capability to rapidly load numerous code objects on various set-top box types in a warehouse environment or other staging area independent of the production system. The OLL1000 uses broadcast functions to clear stale code and/or configure mixed set-top types, so that no individual set-top addressing/configuration is required.The OLL1000 provides the warehouse with more control over code suites. It does so by keeping the loading independent, which has the added benefit of pre-loading set-tops in anticipation of planned code upgrades to support field installations on the day of the code upgrade. It is possible to create the code assignments for the new code a day or two in advance, providing the warehouse with more control over the code suites being pre-loaded.As shown in the figure below, the OLL1000 system consists of an OLL server, an OM1000/2000, and a population of set-tops. The OLL provides a canned OOB transport stream, necessary configuration messages, code download control messages, and a DCII-compliant code download object carousel to allow a set-top or host to download the desired suite of code objects for a particular warehouse or region.

The OM4100 1 GHz optical receiver series enables operators to maximize network flexibility and deploy cost‐saving system designs. The series includes both standard gain and high‐gain options to optimize fiber deep architectures. Both options use an integrated optical hybrid photo detector and Enhanced Gallium Arsenide (E‐GaAs) technology to improve RF performance over the entire 1 GHz passband.
The SG4000 scalable optical node offers a wide variety of analog return path transmitter Distributed Feedback (DFBT) technologies to meet the increasing demand for higher modulation and bonded DOCSIS® environments. SG4‐DFBT 1 mW and SG4‐DFBT3 2 mW transmitters are 1310 nm, isolated, un‐cooled, Distributed Feedback (DFB) lasers. SG4‐DFBT3‐CWDM 2 mW transmitters are available in eight Coarse Wave Division Multiplexed (CWDM) wavelengths. CWDM transmitters offer improved link performance and allow multiple wavelengths to be combined on a single fiber utilizing ruggedized optical passives. SG4‐ITU‐CH transmitters feature cooled, 8 mWlasers based on the International Telecommunications Union (ITU) wavelength grid for maximum link budgets and wavelength aggregation.
The ARRIS SG4‐R‐* receivers feature a built‐in microprocessor for monitoring the optical power, module current, and module enable status. An optical power DC voltage test point, along with a wave‐length selection jumper facilitates accurate measurements of input power. A –20 dB test point enables you to measure carriers throughout the forward band, and gain adjustments are made with a JXP style interstage pad. Output slope is generated by the Linear Midstage Equalizer (LME) plug‐in that is can be changed by removing the receiver cover. Module status indicators help reduce troubleshooting time, and the SG4‐R‐* can be hot‐swapped in the field, providing true plug and play functionality.

Without amplification, the typical link budget is 14 dB.When needed, the VTNITU‐CH* DWDM signals can be amplified by Erbium Doped Fiber Amplifiers (EDFA) to overcome large link budgets similar to digital return links. The VTN‐ITU‐CH* is supported by the VTN‐DOCSIS status monitor transponder. Parameters for control and monitoring include optical output power, laser bias current, and supply current.
