An alternative to larger, more expensive cable modem termination systems (CMTS) and second-hand units with low bandwidth, ATX’s miniCMTS is designed to provide smaller cable operators with the capabilities they need at an exceptional value. The low-cost unit supports up to 400 cable modems depending on the usage model and cable modem type (maximum of 250 DOCSIS 3.0 + 150 DOCSIS 2.0 or 400 DOCSIS 2.0). We recommend a maximum of 400 modems for hospitality applications and a maximum of approximately 200 modems for residential applications or anywhere that a higher usage model applies.
The miniCMTS offers 16 downstream bonded channels for up to 800-Mbps downstream /120-Mbps upstream data delivery. In a residential setting with 200 modems, this data rate provides for a 4-Mbps uncontended internet connection per subscriber.
The ATX GigaPass is a QAM-to-IP media gateway designed to pass encrypted video from existing edge QAM equipment through IP-based CCAP video cores or directly to the CIN. The solution features a modular design and market-leading density that delivers up to 320 processed QAMs in a single RU. It is the ideal solution for enabling MSOs to address video encryption licensing and interoperability issues that threaten to delay their transition to a distributed access architecture (DAA) model, as well as providing smaller MSOs with an alternative to implementing costly and complex CCAP video cores.
The ATX GigaWave DLX a next-generation digital optical gateway platform designed to provide cable operators with a powerful, futureproof and protocol-agnostic solution that enables them to expand the capacity of fiber access links between headends/hubs and outside plant facilities in a cost-effective and pay-as-you-grow manner. The aggregation platform integrates DWDM multiplexing, EDFA and optical switch functionality. When combined with the field-hardened and all-passive Digital Link Extender Receiver (DLR) unit, the pair form a platform that allows for the transmission of up to twenty 10 GigE optical links, redundantly across fiber distances of up to 60 km. The solution is ideal for use in areas where a legacy node serving area is converted into multiple Remote PHY (R-PHY)-based fiber deep nodes, which are fed via 10 GigE optical links. Support for PON transmission is also provided across the redundant links.
The ATX UCrypt® QAM to Analog product offering allows MSOs to decrypt select programs from their digital tier and retransmit them in NTSC or PAL analog formats. It is ideal for converting content into analog format to service bulk MDU, hospitality or commercial accounts where legacy TVs are deployed. It is also field-upgradeable to digital QAM output in the future should the property want to upgrade to digital service. This UCrypt unit allows for delivery of up to 60 individually agile analog channels and supports ingestion of up to 60 MPEG-2 or H.264, HD or SD streams.
The ATX UCrypt® IP to Analog (IP2A) product offering can ingest programs in IP format and retransmit them in analog format. It is ideal for converting content into analog format to service bulk MDU, hospitality or commercial accounts wired only with coaxial cable or where deploying set-top boxes is undesirable or not cost-effective. The UCrypt IP2A product allows for delivery of up to 20 individually agile analog channels in the 50-750 MHz frequency range. It supports ingestion of up to 20 MPEG-2 or H.264, HD or SD, IP multicast video streams in either unencrypted or Verimatrix encrypted formats. Multiple units can be deployed simultaneously to build larger analog lineups. It features constant program monitoring and supports email and SNMP-based alerts and alarms.
